Which photos are most likely to contain a shutter count?
Use a newly captured RAW or original JPEG straight from the camera. Screenshots, chat apps, and photo editors often remove EXIF and MakerNotes.
If no count is found, is the website broken?
Not necessarily. The metadata may have been removed, or the camera may not write a shutter count into the file.
Does the electronic shutter increase the mechanical count?
An electronic shutter usually does not move the mechanical curtains, but manufacturers define total counts differently. Check the count type and confidence shown in the result.
Can shutter count alone tell whether a used camera is in good condition?
No. It is only one sign of use. Also inspect the body, sensor, shutter curtains, repair history, and real-world image quality.
